Guitar Concert Highlights

Thoroughly enjoyed watching (and taking part!) in the annual guitar concert for all my younger pupils. With two of my pupils going on to study at ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music) in Guildford there was plenty of talent on show. It was clear to see the progression of all those that performed last year, and particular congratulations should go to all those performing onstage for the first time.

Exam Distinctions

Congratulations to my pupils Lucy and Matias for passing their recent RGT exams with distinction! Lucy took the Acoustic Guitar Grade 3 and played the traditional folk piece Atholl Highlanders and Matias took the Rock Guitar Grade 2 and played The Clash – Should I Stay Or Should I go. That 33 grade exams I have guided guitarists through – a lot passing with distinction.

New school band song

Have a listen to ‘Desert Island’ – the new song from the band ’35’ that I teach at the Norwegian School. For the past year, these guys (aged 8-9yrs) have been learning how to play together, write songs and perform. They have played in front of hundreds at the Norwegian Independence celebrations at Southwark Park, and we recorded this song together at the end of term.

Have a listen to all the songs that bands at the school have put together at their Soundcloud page here.

Sound Vibrations production with Miri

Very proud to have been one of the producers on Miri’s Sound Vibrations EP.

The project was recorded with four different producers creating a song each with Miri. We wrote the title track together a few years ago, and was nice to finally get to record it properly. It features the beautiful string sounds of Alex Priest and Jenny Cheung, and I’m playing the other instruments. Find out more about Miri, or purchase the CD here.
