Join a band!
Band sessions are available to anyone aged 8-16 wanting to have a go at playing with others, writing songs, recording and performing.
We’re looking for anyone interested in singing, guitar, keyboard/piano, drums or bass guitar. (If you play a different instrument it would be worth getting in touch anyway, although the bands will mainly be going for a contemporary rock/pop sound.) Experience with an instrument is not necessary, but if you are new to the instrument then you would be required to find separate individual tuition.
The band will have a chance to:
- Learn one or more cover songs
- Write their own songs – with help on lyric writing and arrangements
- Play at least two concerts throughout the year
- Record the song using quality studio equipment, with tuition on how to use garageband
- Record a music video (optional!)
If you would like to join, you would be expected to attend throughout the school year so that the band can progress together. However, you would only be committed to it fully for one term at a time. The sessions will be billed each term, and there will not be an option to pay weekly. If you wanted to try it out first, I would suggest booking an individual lesson or short meeting with myself so we could discuss it.
They will take place at a school in Raynes Park, on a Monday starting sometime between 3:30pm and 6pm, lasting one hour.
You can find out more information about guitar tuition at the Norwegian School here.
Cost will be £120 per term (12 sessions each term).
